General Privacy Statement

Compatible Technology International (CTI) is committed to your privacy and the security of your information. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe what information CTI collects, how that information is collected, and how we use that information. The procedures of this policy apply to information collected by CTI.

Information Collected

CTI only collects personally identifying information that you submit voluntarily.

Online donations made to CTI are managed through GiveMN.org. Activities on GiveMN.org are subject to the terms and conditions of the GiveMN Privacy Policy.

Use of Information

By submitting personal information you agree that CTI may keep a record of that information. We may use your personal information to conduct our business with you, to answer any questions or address comments you submit, or to send you further information about our organization. We will never share, loan, or sell your personal information with anyone without your advance permission, unless required to do so by law.

You may always choose to opt-out of receiving any communications from CTI either online or offline; see our Policy on Discontinuing Contact Upon Request below.

Policy on Discontinuing Contact Upon Request

1. Policy: It is the policy of Compatible Technology International (CTI) to discontinue contacting any person upon that person’s oral or written request directed to the organization, its professional fundraiser, or other agent.

CTI shall maintain a record of all requests by persons who indicate to CTI, its professional fundraiser, and other agents, that they do not wish to be contacted by or on behalf of CTI.

2. Limitation: This policy does not prohibit contact by CTI that is solicited by a person or a person’s representative, even if the person or his/her representative have requested to be placed on the “do not contact” list. Contact by CTI that is solicited by a person whose name appears on the “do not contact” list shall be limited to providing a direct response to the person’s inquiry and shall not cause the person’s name to be removed from the “do not contact” list.

3. Procedure: Upon a person’s (or a person’s authorized representative’s) request that CTI discontinue further contacts, the person’s name and address will be promptly removed from CTI’s database or modified to insure that no further contact is made with the person. CTI will also take steps to insure that the person’s name is removed from any external databases or records under CTI’s control.

4. Permanent Record: CTI will maintain a record of all requests for discontinuance of contacts, effective with the adoption of this policy by CTI’s board of directors. Oral requests will be recorded in writing by the staff of CTI and maintained with the written requests. The records of persons who have made such a request will be maintained by CTI to the extent necessary for legal or liability purposes.
