Current News and Upcoming Events July 25, 2008 - Jazz for Peace Concert at The Artists' Quarter Leadership Update On Wednesday July 2, after a series of meetings with Mr. Rod Brown, the Executive Committee of CTI’s Board of Directors and Mr. Brown agreed to sever their relationship. This separation became effective on Thursday July 3rd. Rod Brown remains in touch with us and is actively assisting CTI with pending projects and communications. As of July 3, the day-to-day operations of CTI are in the capable hands of Bert Rivers who has been at the center of most of CTI’s activities for two years. Bert will be assisted by members of the Executive Committee as needed. CTI remains a strong, non-profit organization focusing on culturally appropriate technical solutions to post-harvest issues in developing countries – with ongoing projects in Africa, Asia and Central America. If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact the Board Chairman, Rob Scarlett, via e-mail at TheRobScar@cs.com or by phone at 651-775-3668.

He led a band consisting of Israeli, Middle Eastern, European, Asian and American musicians in concert for an international audience in what is now considered “one of the most significant cultural events of our time!” This U.N. Concert has led to a benefit concert series that has gone on to raise funds, publicity and awareness for over 500 non-profit organizations as well as an Educational Program to bring jazz back into the schools and donate musical instruments to underprivileged children. In March 2007 jazz pianist, vocalist and composer Rick DellaRatta was recognized by The Foundation Center as one of the top musicians philanthropists of our time along with Bono (U2), Elton John, Peter Gabriel and Sting. Over the past year Jazz for Peace has garnered support and praise from distinguished Americans such as Senator John McCain, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, activist Noam Chomsky, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and many more along with music lovers and humanitarians worldwide of all ages and nationalities!
